In summer 2013, High Output had the pleasure of installing a large video wall in the lobby of FROST Ice Loft, New England’s only permanent indoor bar designed and furnished entirely of ice.
FROST wanted a way to create a high impact visual for visitors as they enter the lobby. The plan was to display icy arctic and mountain scenes with audible blowing winds to mirror the feeling inside the bar, which is always a cool 21° Fahrenheit.
High Output worked closely with MLA Consultants and the owners of FROST to find a solution for their audiovisual needs. We designed and installed a system utilizing eight 46-inch LCD monitors and a specialized video processor that allows the monitors to work as a singular display, thus creating a 2 x 4 video wall. Included the design is a distributed audio system with the ability to work in the extreme cold conditions of the ice bar.
The video wall was completed successfully and is a very effective tool for conveying the icy interior to excited patrons. FROST Ice Loft opened to rave reviews on Labor Day 2013, welcoming hundreds of curious visitors through their doors.
